Arjun Kapoor On His Depression: Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor is in the news these days about his recently released film Singham Again. In this Ajay Devgan starrer film, he has appeared in villain avatar. Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor has talked about his flop films. He has also revealed that he has been a victim of mild depression and is struggling with a disease called Hashimoto.
In a recent interview with Anupam Chopra, Arjun Kapoor talked about his films flopping. He said- ‘I had started taking therapy. The process of depression and therapy started last year. I didn’t know if I was depressed or not, I just knew something wasn’t working. My life had become filmy and now suddenly I have become used to watching other people’s work and thinking in my mind, will I be able to do it or will I get a chance?
Arjun Kapoor struggled with mild depression
The Singham Again actor further said- ‘I have never been a bitter or negative person, but this started growing inside me very badly. I started therapy and went to a few therapists, which didn’t help. So I got confused again. Then I found someone who gave me permission to speak. At that time he was diagnosed with mild depression. I haven’t always talked about it openly, but I also have Hashimoto’s disease, which is an extension of the thyroid.
‘I can take flights and gain weight’
Talking about Hashimoto’s, Arjun said- ‘It’s almost like I can take a flight and gain weight because the body is in trouble. You are either in flight mode or fight mode. Hashimoto’s disease occurred when I was 30 years old. Arjun further tells that his mother Mona Shourie Kapoor and his sister Anshula Kapoor also have this disease.
